At Bombs Away Café we are committed to providing an authentic product at an affordable price. As part of this commitment, we choose only fresh and local organic produce when they are in season and available. Season to season, we support the chef-farmer connection and plan with local farmers which fresh ingredients we would like to bring to you, our valued customer, in the coming year. We also strive to bring you the finest quality of pork, chicken, and beef products. We have found local farms who supply us with hormone and antibiotic free meats and eggs. We also use the Audubon Society and the Monterey Bay Seafood Watch programs to purchase only seafood that is plentiful and sustainable. Furthermore, absolutely no hydrogenated oils or processed foods are used in the preparation of our products. All of these steps are taken to ensure that the meals served to you and your families have integrity, wholeness, an affordable price, and of course that great Bombs Away Flavor!
In addition, we’re committed to fostering partnerships in our community. We have formed a peer learning group with other restaurant owners and community members and are currently creating a model for a sustainable restaurant. WHAT IS SUSTAINABILITY? The practice of sustainability is about creating new ways to live and prosper while ensuring an equitable, healthy future for all people and the planet. Our small group here in Corvallis is part of a much larger worldwide organization called The Natural Step. The Natural Step takes an upstream approach to sustainability and addresses problems at the source. We begin by understanding the broader system within which problems occur and develop effective, durable solutions for the environmental and social issues of the new century. Here at Bombs Away Café, we desire to make decisions that will leave smaller footprints on this earth for the generations that lie ahead.
Lastly, it is important that we highlight our love of live music and our commitment to providing it to you. We’re doing this by having a variety of accomplished local, regional, and even international artists grace the stage. Whether it is the early evening shows for the whole family or the late night acts, we want to please musicians and customers alike.
